Some of the biggest tricks the narcissist uses involve their phones – specifically texting. We all have phones, we all need them, and narcissists love knowing anybody they want to mess with is just 20 seconds away from that becoming reality.

All narcissists want, love and need control. With texting, they become some of the most impossible, hurtful people who are only out for one thing – to create drama.

#1: “Don’t Forget Me!”

The narcissist will blow up your phone the moment you’re having a good day or going out with friends. They love to remind you that they exist, especially when you’re enjoying yourself without them.

#2: “I’ll Reply When I Feel Like It”

When you need to get hold of them, the narcissist will act as nonchalantly as possible. They see your priority or request and they will completely shelve you – because what matters to you never matters to them.

#3: “The Bare Minimum Response”

Okay. Sure. Whatever. Yep. Nope. They’re showing you that yes, they can reply, but no, they’re not giving you what you need – then they’ll accuse you of being needy when you ask what’s wrong.

#4: “Block and Unblock Games”

I want you, I don’t want you. The way they dictate when you get to text and when you can’t is absolutely controlling – victims constantly check their phones to see if they’ve been blocked that day.

#5: “Phone Mysteriously OFF”

The phone is off, so even if you wanted to text, that message isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. They don’t care about your communication or even if there was an emergency – they just want control.

#6: “What Text? I Never Got It”

It’s laughable that any narcissist would deny they got your text. Never believe them – phones are more efficient now than ever, and they got it, they just didn’t click on it.

#7: “Prompt Until You Respond”

You don’t reply right away to their text, and suddenly you get a GIF, a single kiss, a meme, a question mark. They’re essentially saying: I have texted you, you haven’t replied, and I’m not going anywhere.

We know exactly what they’re doing. Your phone shouldn’t be their weapon against you.
