HTML6 Standard
===
There is currently NO official HTML6 standard, though concepts for a future version or different implementations of “HTML6” exist, such as a proposed semantic markup language, a non-existent “HyperTurtle Markup Language“, and a proprietary HTML editor called HTML6.com. While web developers have speculated about features for a successor to HTML5, these ideas are not official standards from organizations like the W3C, and the future of HTML is more likely to be a continuous evolution rather than discrete numbered versions.
Why there isn’t an HTML6:
Living Standard: HTML is considered a living standard, meaning it is continuously updated and improved rather than progressing through distinct, numbered versions.
Lack of Official Standard: Organizations like the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) have not released any official specification for HTML6. The current official specification is HTML5.
What “HTML6” refers to in different contexts: Speculative Concepts:
Many articles discuss what HTML6 could be, proposing features like enhanced semantics for web components, advanced multimedia interactivity, and improved accessibility attributes to make the web more dynamic and inclusive.
A Proprietary HTML Editor: HTML6.com is a specific online WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editor that aims to make web content creation easier.
A Hypothetical Markup Language: There have been concepts, such as one proposing a “HyperTurtle Markup Language” (HTML), which are not the same as the standard HTML and often appear as April Fools’ jokes or hypothetical ideas.
