I am Rooting for You!
1. Stop arguing with reality.
2. Accept patterns faster instead of hoping endlessly.
3. Protect your inner world more carefully.
4. Stop making toxic environments your emotional centre of gravity.
5. Use therapy, coaching, or somatic work (or all!) to release accumulated emotions.
6. Normalise grieving what you wished the workplace could have been.
7. Stop expecting reciprocity from people who consistently show none.
8. Build calm through repetition, not through waiting for the workplace to improve.
9. Learn politics without becoming manipulative yourself.
10. Focus on strategic influence rather than emotional persuasion.
11. Keep reminding yourself: “I do not need to emotionally drown in order to survive this”.
12. Practice leaving work mentally at work.
13. Train yourself to notice when you are emotionally hooked.
14. Ask: “Is this truly my responsibility?” before taking things on.
15. Accept that preserving your peace is productive
16. Stop equating suffering with integrity.
17. Allow yourself to become more emotionally selective with your energy.
18. Realise that unbothered does not mean numb: it means no longer internally collapsing every time dysfunction appears.
19. Remember that calm is sometimes the most powerful form of inner self-protection available in toxic systems.
